Built for EU law firms · GDPR-first · Clio-ready

Every billable minute, written up and in Clio before you close the file.

feenotes.ai records work as it happens, drafts the fee narrative in your firm's voice, and posts approved entries directly to your Clio EU matters — no Friday-night timesheet reconstruction.

Recording time is not the hard part. Recording it accurately is.

Time written down hours later

Entries reconstructed at the end of the day lose detail, and detail is what survives a costs assessment.

Narratives that invite write-offs

Vague descriptions such as “attendance on client” are the first line a billing partner strikes out.

Double keying into Clio

Notes in one place, matters in another, and a manual copy step between them every single week.

How it works

Three steps between doing the work and billing it.

  1. 01

    Capture as you work

A lightweight timer plus passive signals from calls, calendar and documents. Start on desktop, stop on mobile.

  2. 02

    AI drafts the fee note

Each block becomes a defensible narrative with the right activity code and the matter it belongs to, in your firm's house style.

  3. 03

Approve, then it lands in Clio

Review the day in one screen. Approved entries post to Clio EU as activities on the correct matter — nothing is duplicated.

Everything a fee earner needs, nothing they have to learn.

AI fee narratives

Compliant, specific descriptions generated from the actual work, editable before approval.

Matter & client matching

Entries are attributed to the right Clio matter using participants, documents and context.

One-click Clio sync

Approved time posts as Clio activities with rate, activity category and billable flag intact.

Mobile capture

Log a call from the corridor. It is in the review queue before you sit down.

Team review queue

Supervisors see unbilled time, gaps and low-detail entries across the department daily.

EU data residency

Processed and stored in the EU, aligned to how Clio EU already holds your firm's data.

Clio EU integration

Your practice management stays the source of truth.

feenotes.ai connects to Clio Manage on the EU region over OAuth. We read your matters, clients, users and activity categories, and we write back only the time entries you have approved.

  • Secure OAuth connection

Authorise once from Clio. No passwords stored, revoke access at any time.

  • Matters and clients sync

Your Clio matter list, custom rates and activity categories are mirrored, not retyped.

  • No duplicate entries

Every synced entry is tracked, so re-running a sync never bills the client twice.

  • Works alongside Clio's timer

Existing Clio time entries are respected and shown in the daily review.

Confidentiality is the product requirement.

GDPR by design

Data minimisation, DPA and sub-processor list available before you sign.

EU-hosted

Storage and processing within the EU, matching your Clio EU region.

Encrypted throughout

TLS in transit, encryption at rest, scoped access per firm.

Never used for training

Client and matter content is never used to train shared models.

Questions

Which Clio regions do you support?
The EU region of Clio Manage is supported at launch. US, CA, AU and UK regions follow shortly after the pilot.
How is feenotes.ai priced?
Per fee earner, per month, billed annually or monthly, with volume pricing for firms above twenty seats. Final pricing is confirmed with pilot firms.
What data do you actually process?
Timing metadata, calendar and call context, and the document or matter references needed to write an entry. Content is processed in the EU and never used to train shared models.
Do we need to migrate anything?
No. Your matters, clients and rates stay in Clio. feenotes.ai reads them over the API and writes approved time back.
Is there a trial?
Pilot firms get a supervised trial period on a single department, including onboarding and a review of captured versus billed hours.
